Poor Aang. Everyone expects so much of him so young. All he can do is work hard and do his best, and hope that when the time comes, he’ll be ready.

Bless. Last night I rewatched the finale, which I had forgotten was quite as long as it is. The series definitely ended on a high note, though, in spite of the odd prevarication at the beginning. I don’t think I ever fully appreciated the animation in Zuko and Azula’s duel until it was projected up on my wall. Beautiful stuff, and what great characters the series had. Away from the series’ bad episodes and annoying abruptness and incessant power-ups, I could just thoroughly enjoy those last chapters. I even went looking back through my old diaries to see when I first started to watch the show. Turns out it was in February 2006, almost a year after the series began in the US. Book 1 had ended; Book 2 was yet to begin. As yet there was no Toph, and Azula was the new antagonist. It may not have been quite as early as I’d thought, but I feel quite confident still I was one of the very first people watching the show here in the UK, and I definitely remember how small the fandom was when I came to it.

Anyway, this pic was nice and simple, Putting together some shots with the general idea of ‘training’, which I hope ties with the title.
