I think it’s time to start uploading ’s pics of my steampunk outfit to my dA, commenting on each as I do so, going slowly so that I can stick each in my diary on a different day.

The first one, which she called ‘unk’d take seven’, is in my esteem the best statement of intent. Photo and editing credits of course go to lovely Maryam, although I added a bit of an artificial vignette to give some atmosphere and hide some minor unwanted details. Something else other than the chair for my foot and perhaps hiding a bit more studio may have made this slightly better, but I love the way it turned out, and that is as it should be – all about the costume.

I’m really pleased with the way it turned out looking. The blue trousers were a good idea after all, the boots ended up looking better than I’d hoped, the cravat behaved and I just love the blowtorch and the dial on my left elbow. The telescopic mirror looks cool on the right glove and you can just look at this and imagine a character, which I’m really happy about. The only shame is that you can’t see all the stuff on my hat, the goggles and cogs and feathers and all the rest of it!
